Back to work

Back to work after my holiday was interesting.

First day back, I decided to increase my carbs to make sure I could actually work.

I was glad I did because the day was quite busy and I felt very hungry when working hard.

Over the next few days, I found it difficult to work out what changes in diet had what effect.
This seems to be because of the sudden, unexpected rushes of heavy lifting among long periods of fairly easy work. The violent exercise made vast difference to my bg.

I'm still quite confused and I'm probably eating too much carb. I am, however, getting reasonable bg readings and my weight seems to be remaining constant so I'll settle for what I'm doing for a few weeks before messing with it again.

It's also noticeable that I'm eating less carb than DUK recommend.

The most frustrating thing about work was that for the first few days I was not allowed to drive my lorry.

I had sent details of my diabetes and tablets to the transport manager with a suggestion that he pass it on to the insurance company. Having done that, he decided to ground me until he heard back from them.

They didn't rush to reply because it wasn't a big deal. When he finally rang them about it, they seemed baffled that anyone thought there might be a problem.
