Thank you for telling us about your medical condition. The DVLA does not need to make medical enquiries and therefore you may keep your driving licence. If you are applying for a new driving licence, one will be issued to you soon.
Information about your condition and driving is enclosed with this letter. You should keep this for future reference.

Although the INF188/2 implies that I did not need to inform the DVLA of my type 2 diabetes treated with tablets, this is not the case.
ReplyDeleteBecause I have a group 2 licence, I needed to sign a declaration in the form DIAB1V
I have read the above information and fully understand that to meet the Group 2 standards of medical fitness to drive I will check my blood glucose (sugar) level at least twice daily and at times relevant to driving. I will also keep a supply of fast acting carbohydrate such as glucose or sweets within easy reach in my vehicle.
